We share the goal of actively reducing our CO2 consumption with our parent company, Mercedes-Benz Group AG. Our most effective lever, and at the same time tool, is the digitization of processes. With the many possible applications that can be created from our Digital Twin and Virtual Engineering lighthouse projects, we are conserving important resources.
We enable international collaboration in virtual space, make our contribution to paperless production, optimize supply chains and ensure greater efficiency in many areas of vehicle development and production. We are exploiting the opportunities of Green IT with energy-saving hardware and software, sourcing green power, and transforming our computer centers into more sustainable, modern data centers. At the same time, we are also optimizing our processes and procedures internally in order to make a decisive contribution to the GO GREEN initiative.

The guiding principles of transparency, self-determination and data security of Mercedes-Benz Data Compliance are an integral part of our corporate responsibility. The responsible use of artificial intelligence also has a special and ethical significance. We use the potential and opportunities of AI, for example, in the processing of large volumes of data. We always do this if and only if they offer real added value - and if they have been scrupulously tested for compliance with data security specifications.

With the digital twins, for example, we are making an important contribution to driving forward the IT initiative of Mercedes-Benz Group AG, 100% digitally. We accelerate processes, work with the latest methods, always think from the perspective of our customers, and thereby promote lean, effective transformation. We only develop digital products that create real added value and are therefore effective along the entire value chain. Only then can product data be turned into digital experiences that characterize the fascination and aspiration of the Mercedes-Benz brand.
2002 starts with 13
Since our founding more than 20 years ago, the world of IT has changed fundamentally. We started in 2002 with 13 colleagues under the name protics technical information consulting & support GmbH. Product data documentation has made up a large part of our portfolio. Today, as Mercedes-Benz Tech Motion GmbH, we are setting the course for the future with around 650 employees at several locations by combining our expertise in data management with the latest technologies. Our service portfolio in the Mercedes-Benz AG environment is focused on virtual engineering and product data management. Together with our customers, we tap into the possibilities inherent in product data and use them to create the ultimate digital and virtual luxury experience around Mercedes-Benz vehicles.

Over 650 colleagues with around 30 nationalities, spread across different locations, also means more than 650 different personalities with individual needs, mindsets and goals. We live and value our versatility, and we constantly align our processes accordingly. Our focus is on agile, flexible and pragmatic working models. We promote team spirit and mutual exchange with regular activities and initiatives, e.g. with professional talks, information and exchange formats with management, team sparring, company celebrations or town hall meetings.

The number of vehicle variants that can be ordered per model series is seemingly infinite and at the same time immeasurable, as is the range of possibilities within the product life cycle for us as data specialists. And so every task always begins with initially invisible raw data and largely still unstructured quantities of data. We prepare our data along the entire value chain by refining them and making them universally applicable. Thus, they are provided in a structured, correct and on-time way at the required place and can be used comfortably in the end: Not only as a selection option in the vehicle configurator, but also, for instance, as an intuitive display or intelligent module in logistics.
