The participants get an overview the ELM platform, terminology, processes, and the big picture. Furthermore, they will learn the most important functions and apply them when creating their specification. The participants can start creating their own system specification.

- Overview system specification (model), definitions, terminology, and process
- MBSE Platform Overview and first steps
- Basic functions for specification
- Preparation of MGU construction and list of abbreviations
- Template, follow-up processes: Linking, collaboration (dissemination/linking of relevant specifications)
- Preparation for a system specification export
- Practical exercises in a separate exercise sandbox

Feature-based Variant Management with pure::variants

Basic understanding / terminology of feature-based variant management, feature modeling/variant management using pure::variants in the EWM client and DNG, variant configuration based on specific examples.
Topics of the course:
- The participants will be able to independently create a feature model and configure variants with pure::variants.
- The participants will know the necessary tools required for this and can also use them to derive a variant.
- Participants know how variants, features, and component specifications relate to one another and can implement them in DNG.

Technical requirements:
For online trainings: The training takes place on specially created virtual machines, so connecting to a remote desktop must be possible.

Participants will learn to model an impact chain for a customer function in the IBM Rational Rhapsody tool, and to integrate this customer function impact chain into the system specification.
Topics of the course:
- Knowledge and orientation in the system model as well as the functional model
- Understanding the diagrams relevant for modeling customer function impact chains
- Model a customer function impact chain in IBM Rational Rhapsody
- Integration of the customer function impact chain into the system specification
- Make and deploy changes to the system model as well as the functional model
Info: This training neither provides an overview of all the features available in Rhapsody, nor does it provide any training on modeling or SysML. Only the knowledge and steps necessary to model a customer function impact chain in Rhapsody and to create the corresponding change request are covered.

The focus is placed on documentation of CPU, memory, connector, pin, signal, internal circuits. Participants will be able to identify and process tasks related to submissions evaluated as “red”.

In the training course, participants will receive an introduction to the wiring harness development process. In addition, a brief presentation of the wiring harness database Connect is carried out with the aim of retrieving previously documented wiring harness data and loading it into the E3.HarnessAnalyzer.
It will also include basic functions of the E3.HarnessAnalyzer as well as putting the tool to use in actual use cases (e.g. Comparison of predecessor/successor statuses, cross-sectional calculation for line bundles, weight calculation of wires, …) both via explanations and practical application.
